1. Overview

MYTOPEVER ("the Service") is a non-commercial personal project designed for creating, curating, and sharing personal top lists, ratings, and reviews across movies, TV shows, games, books, music, and people.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, how it is used, and how you retain control over your data in accordance with modern privacy standards (including GDPR principles).

2. Data We Process

• Email Address: used strictly for user authentication (magic links / login) and account security. We never send marketing newsletters or spam.
• Profile Information: your username, public display name, and optional avatar image URL.
• User-Generated Content: list titles, curated items, numerical ratings, personal reviews/comments, tags, and uploaded book files (.epub format for the in-browser reader).
• Technical Cookies & Storage: authentication tokens stored via browser LocalStorage/cookies to keep you signed in, and language preference state.

3. How We Use Information

Your data is processed solely to:

• Provide core functionality of the Service (storing and synchronizing your personal lists);
• Render your public lists and reviews for anyone you share a link with;
• Protect the platform against abuse and unauthorized access.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties under any circumstances.

4. Infrastructure & Third-Party APIs

The Service relies on industry-standard infrastructure providers:

• Supabase (Supabase Inc.) — cloud database hosting with strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies and authentication.
• Media Metadata APIs (TMDB, RAWG, Open Library, Apple iTunes) — queried strictly for public metadata (posters, release dates, descriptions). No personal user data is ever transmitted to these external providers.

5. Public vs Private Lists

By default, user-created lists are public (is_public = true) so you can share your rankings with friends.

You can toggle any list to Private at any time via the lock icon in the list header, rendering it visible only to your authenticated account.

6. User Rights & Account Deletion

You retain full ownership of your content. You may edit or delete any of your items, reviews, or lists directly through the interface.
